Airports

Increasing demand for air travel is transforming airport terminals into key transport ‘hubs’ and multi-faceted tourism, retail and leisure developments. Aurecon has decades of experience in the planning, design and construction supervision of all airside and landside facilities at airports and airfields, including support facilities. Our multi-disciplinary teams include airport and facilities planners, specialist engineers and project managers, who deliver world-class airport infrastructure which meets the commercial needs of airport operators, airlines and passengers.

It is Aurecon’s aim to be a ‘total infrastructure solutions provider’ for the aviation industry. As airport developments become increasingly multi-faceted, they require a range of expertise rarely available under one roof. With a multi-disciplinary team, Aurecon possesses this complete range of expertise and can meet the needs of airport operators and airlines around the world.

Our services range from feasibility studies to detailed design of a range of airport facilities including terminal buildings and components e.g. baggage handling systems, aerobridges, pavements, aeronautical ground lighting, navigational aids and hangars.

Aurecon also provides specialist assistance in the operation and management of airports, as well as policy and legal support, and can assist with the financial restructuring and commercialisation of airports. We have invested in a number of proprietary systems to expedite effective results for our clients. These include CAD drafting, aircraft tracking and jet blast modelling, as well as pavement design and digital terrain modelling.

Our work includes significant facilities such as OR Tambo International Airport and Kruger Mpumalanga International Airport, South Africa, Brisbane and Sydney International Airports, Australia, and domestic facilities at many major airports.
