Proudest moment in your career?
7 May 2001, Airtrain, Brisbane Airport Rail. This project had a four-year long negotiation period, and yet was constructed in just over 27 months, coming in under budget and before the deadline.
Your most challenging project?
The one I’m currently working on. People come to us for answers and because of this, the most challenging project I’m working on, is always the project that I’m working on now.
Keys to a successful project delivery?
When everybody is aligned and all parties are working to achieve the same objective.
The most important lesson you learnt early in your career?
Be nice to everybody! You never know what lies in the future; one day that person may be a client, or even your boss. You should always respect everyone.
Where do you see rail over the next five years?
The world is hungry for resources. This industry will continue to thrive and get increasingly bigger. Rail is both safer and greener than rubber tyre transport.
Enjoyment is...
Doing what I am doing now. I can honestly say I love my job and hope to be still doing it in ten years.
