Hong Kong is one of the world’s leading financial centres and one of two special administrative regions of the People's Republic of China. Hong Kong retains its laws and a high level of autonomy following the transfer of sovereignty from Britain to China in 1997.

Hong Kong's economy is now primarily services based, having moved away from manufacturing. A major corporate and banking centre, Hong Kong is a channel for China's flourishing exports and has one of the world’s busiest ports and a major airport hub serving East and South East Asia.

Aurecon entered the Hong Kong market more than 30 years ago, providing services for clients in Hong Kong, Macau and Mainland China.  Our Hong Kong office provides a range of consulting engineering services including civil, structural, geotechnical, tunnelling, rail services, mechanical, electrical, fire engineering, environmental, acoustic, sustainability, and other speciality technical services on building and transport infrastructure projects.

The premium on available land in Hong Kong has continued the trend in the construction of tall buildings, clearly illustrated by Hong Kong’s famous skyline. At Aurecon, we have a world-class team with specialist expertise in the design and delivery of tall buildings to our global clients’ unique requirements. We also possess an outstanding track record in development of data centres for the finance industry, as well as leading skills in sustainable buildings design, coordinated 3D building design, façade  engineering, and building sciences. Our specialisation in high-end building design is further strengthened by our merger in March 2011 with Daniel Chan and Associates - an independent engineering consultancy with particular expertise in sustainable design in Hong Kong, China and Macau.

Aurecon’s considerable experience in tunnelling, ground, civil structures, and rail engineering has also been applied on infrastructure projects with the Hong Kong MTR .

Aurecon’s other Hong Kong projects have included: sustainability consultancy  for Hong Kong’s new Government Headquarters at Tamar: structural, mechanical, electrical and plumbing design for the Macau City of Dreams; mechanical design for MTR’s  above ground stations’ automatic platform gates; tunnelling design for the Hong Kong-Guangzhou Express Rail Link; and civil and structural design services for the rollout of new 3G 2100 technology for Hong Kong's largest mobile carrier, CSL.
